I only caught the scene out of the corner of my eye, then slammed on the brakes and backed up to capture it. I thought it looked like something out of a storybook, so I edited…  Another from my Schenectady Stockade series. The whole historic district is FULL of gorgeous old shutters with these ornate wrought iron shutter dogs with years of patina. This was my favorite, simply because of the contrast between the black shutter, the weathered tan paint and the red leaves on the ivy. This old fence bordered a pasture filled with horses, and the autumn grasses beyond were *so* perfectly backlit by the rising sun that they almost seemed to glow. |
