Category Archives: personal | book reviews You know how it’s somewhat jarring to finish one book then start another? You get all engrossed in the characters only to have the book end…then you start a new one and it’s like “Wha? Who? Where did that guy go?” That’s why I LOVE book series, and I read a ton of them….  I could sum up my review of Unbroken with two words: Read it. I read constantly, and my tastes definitely lean to mystery/suspense. I don’t even remember the last time I read a nonfiction book – they’re just not my thing. But I kept seeing this book pop up, and 1500 reviews on Amazon with…  I just finished this one. It’s number 3,287 in the Myron Bolitar series – which I love. Harlan Coben’s books are funny – his writing is SO good, so witty and dialogue well done – that you don’t really notice that the story itself is rather simple. I whipped through this one and couldn’t…  I read Dennis Lehane’s Shutter Island awhile back, which – as a lover of complex thrillers – was simply one of the most amazing books I’d ever read.
