Baby Jake | A Sneak Peek

Angela has been waiting so patiently for her sneak peek - so without further ado, meet the newest addition to this lovely family:

Sigh…I just love little baby hands and feet and lips, don’t you? Being around all my wee ones makes me want another! (don’t worry, Vic - I’m just kidding! Sortof. Maybe. No, really.).

Daddy smiles…baby smiles…

This series with Angela has moved right onto my ‘personal favorites’ list. The connection between them is just so emotional. His finger around hers…his hand in her hair…Sigh…

And this was really special. Mom *really* wanted some images of big sister Ella holding her new baby brother. So she didn’t let her hold him until the shoot (smart woman!!!), making it a special event. The shot on the left? Ella holding Jake for the very first time. <sniff> She’s such a proud big sister, can’t you tell?

Angela and Carter: Thank you for another wonderful, wonderful session!

Ruth Ann at 7 Days: A Sneak Peek

I met this little sweetie on a dark and gloomy Friday. It rained, then the sun came out, then the rain moved back in to stay. Fortunately, mom and dad had some lovely floor-length windows that we made the most of. I actually don’t mind gloomy light with a newborn session, since it gives gorgeous depth and texture to all of baby’s wrinkles and folds. Case in point:

I was holding Ruth Ann’s little legs in to get her back to sleep, and I looked down and had an epiphany. Called mom over to put her hands in my place, and voila!

My poor dads have received quite a soaking lately. As SOON as we put baby in dad’s lap, she decided it was time to go. I think this has happened with my last 4 newborn sessions in a row - mom stays clean, dad gets wet. ;) And they’ve all been great sports about it, too. Welcome to the wonderful messy world of parenthood!

I have 3 more dads coming up in the next couple of weeks - get the washing machine warmed up, is all I can say!

And one last one with her gorgeous mama…

Mary Ann and Jeramy, thank you so much for sharing your sweetie with me!

Jackson at 10 Days: A Sneak Peek

Jennifer and Paul have been so patient with me - I’m running a day or so behind on my sneak peeks!

So without further ado, I’d like you all to meet their sweet little darling Jackson.

I loved his little dangly umbilical cord stump - it’s always a treat when my babies still have it, since it’s *so* indicative of their being a newborn. He somehow lost it between this group of shots and the next, which also happens quite often!

Not to ruin the ambiance, but when we were shooting this series, Jackson decided it was time to poop. and poop. And poop. I caught a handful…Grandma came in and caught some…Mom came in with a towel and got some more…and ya, Paul got it too. We all had a good laugh about it. I hope it all washed out, Paul!

With his beautiful mama…

I have to share this one so all of the women who read my blog can join me in being green with envy over Jennifer’s amazing eyelashes…

A fun one in my most recent acquisition…

Jennifer and Paul - thank you so very much for sharing your adorable little fella with me!

Tyler at 8 Days: A Sneak Peek

I felt a kindred spirit in Lesley from the moment she e-mailed me from the hospital mere hours after giving birth to sweet Tyler. I love a woman who gets things done! A week later, and they were at my house so I could photograph their adorable baby boy.

We’ll start with a sweet little smile…

Dad and mom…

Mom loves creative shots, so we had some fun…And the backstory to some of these is funny. Mr. Tyler has <ahem> a bit of an appetite. So he went into the basket, decided he was hungry, had a snack, went back into the basket, and zzzzz…..

Then the same thing happened outside. He went into the bowl, said “Eh, I think I’d rather eat!” Had a snack, then Zzzz…..

Lesley and Chris, thank you again for such a great session. And especially Chris, who was SUCH a good sport when he got to serve as a human burp cloth! ;)
