Soon to adorn my wall…

I mostly display black and whites in our “public” areas of the house - I have a whole wall that greets people as they come in the front door. (When my clients ask, I often tell them I love black and whites for their artistic quality in public areas, and I love color images for their warm and friendly qualities in family/private areas.)

At the top of our stairs, I have an 8′ wide landing wall I’m turning into a color image gallery. This will be the next addition. It’s an 11×14 print with a collage of 4 images and text in a 1.5″ black frame.

It’s going to make me smile every time I walk up the stairs. And remind me why I love her, even when - instead of getting dressed - she comes into my room and throws her clothes at me. Ahh…the joys of parenting a 3 year old! ;)

Noah at 6 Months: A Sneak Preview

Can you believe this little guy is only 6 months old? I told his sweet parents that they were in sooo much trouble!

Most of my little ones can’t even sit by 6 months - but look at him! I predict marathons by 8 months.

I don’t often shoot families indoors this time of year - it’s just too gorgeous outside! But this living room was so flooded with light and color - I couldn’t resist!

I know I’ve said it before, but one of my favorite things about this age are the expressions. Hello little teeth!

Gina and Joel: Thank you so much for such a fun session - Your little guy was a joy to photograph. I hope you enjoyed your sneak peek and I’ll be in touch soon with the rest of your images!

The ‘W’ Family: A Sneak Peek

Without mincing words, this family was an absolute JOY to photograph.

Hello beautiful girl! In true 3 year old girlie fashion, Miss Merritt had no fewer than 3 wardrobe changes during the shoot. We had to negotiate a bit in order to get from dress #1 to dress #2. I think I offered up 5 pictures, and Merritt asked for 2. So two it was!

And here is adorable little brother Jay. I love the little tooth & the telltale drool on his shirt.

The whole fun family!

At every family session, there comes a point where I tell Dad to pretend I’m not there and just play with the kids. And it’s HARD to do that, right? But Kit? Totally up for the challenge. How fun is this?

You’ll notice wardrobe change #2 above. #3? Well, let’s just say I wish I’d captured the look on her face when I pulled out my raspberry petticoat. But I think this tells the tale…

Definitely a FAVORITE! Dad was worried about the long grass because they’d just gotten home from vacation, but I don’t think I’d like this shot as well without it!

And I’ll finish with these two beautiful ladies. And I have to credit the gorgeous light here to the ginormous, modern house reflector next door. Who needs a view when you have great bounced light, right? ;)

Marti and Kit: Thank you for such a wonderful session. I’ll be in touch very soon with the rest of your images!
