Sweet little Jack was 3 weeks old when we met. And he was so happy and content and loved…he slept like, well, like a baby!

The one on the right – definitely my favorite. Joy held him, Karin took his head into her hand and he just opened his eyes and looked into the eyes of his loving parents. Huge smiles all around.

I first photographed this sweetie as a wee 3 month old back in early December. And look at how he’s blossomed into a smiley, sitting up little fellow!

This is my favorite image from the session, and every mom out there will know why: Because for several months, this is our life. Mom snuggling her sweet baby while he’s MUCH more interested in studying the shiny thing. Oh, and knuckle dimples. You know I can’t resist those.

If I was handing out an award for the most adorable expressions during a session…Steven would surely be a finalist.

Here he was when I photographed him as a newborn 8 months ago:

And here he is now: Mr. Smileypants.

Oh my goodness, the expressions: His mom and I just laughed through the whole session!

While I believe what made him so happy were my repeated renditions of the “A B Cs,” let’s just say it was my sparkling personality, shall we?

Sweet Hannah was one of the smiliest 8 month olds I’ve ever photographed. I usually find that when a baby is on the ‘cusp’ of something new (sitting…crawling…standing…walking…teeth!), they are entirely focused on THAT, and smiling? Not so much. Well miss Hannah was on the cusp of a few things, but that didn’t stop her smiley self!

We had such a beautiful day for our session…

I *love* this one, even though it makes my heart lurch. What mom doesn’t remember having their sweet teething little one chew on their face? This almost makes me want to open up the Russo family to another baby. Almost.

And my favorite shot of the day.

I love 3 month olds. Since so many of my clients come to me as sweet little newborns (which is fantastic!), I don’t photograph 3 month olds very often. I think I giggled like a crazy person about 10 times during this session, but I’m sure Erin and Stan will forgive me. Why the giggles? This:

Oh my goodness, can you stand it? A few bars of the ABCs and a couple of peek-a-boos and I am the most fascinating and funny person on earth for a few minutes. 3 month olds are so FUN! The expressions. The smiles. The drool!

And toes. I think I took about 500 shots of Olivia’s absolutely delightful baby toes. But can you blame me?

Olivia’s mom told me that she has a classic furrowed brow. And here it is, along with the longest eyelashes EVER (and her hair – see, I’m giggling again, she’s just so CUTE!)

Do you recognize the telltale signs of getting sleepy? Yup…

Did someone mention adorable toes?

6 (almost 7) months. Sitting, but not crawling. In the world of child photographers, this equals the MAGIC age. Smiles, happy, soaking it all in. I first photographed little Laura as a wee newborn, and she’s blossomed into an adorable, happy, loved little sweetheart.

I love her little telltale ‘I have new teeth’ lip, and is this not the most PERFECT dress against the lush green backdrop (and my new chair!):

And let me tell you, this little girlie is adored by her parents. And it shows…

The ‘antique scale’ shot is one of my most requested, but I haven’t shared one in awhile. Baby bottom = cuteness x 10!

Lauren, Jason (and Lauren’s dad!), thank you so much for another fabulous session. Enjoy that sweet girlie of yours, she is absolutely precious.

Walker was one of the most content little peanuts I’ve ever photographed. Whatever we wanted to do, he went along with it – as long as he was warm and comfy, it was all good. He even gave us a few sweet smiles!

Sweet Olivia is a very special little baby. And since I have a little miracle of my own, I was so honored to photograph another.

She’s just so beautiful and delicate. And a little chunk! I do love chunky baby cheeks…and toes!

She also has a big brother who loves her very much. And my songs. I love a kiddo who laughes at with me when I sing.

Sweet little Etta. She was one of my older newborns, and I always let mom know that once baby is over a week or so, we might not get those curled up newborn shots.

Well. Etta must have overheard me and thought to herself “Harumph! I’ll show HER!”

I also told mom that my 2 week olds sometimes don’t want to sleep. Hmmm…..

After proving me very, very wrong, I got to meet Miss Etta’s big brother. Who – seriously – needs to work that personality into a fabulous career someday. I could have chatted with Mr. Sam all day.

I first photographed sweet Mary Isabella WAY back in April when she was but a wee newborn. Mom Jackie said I was her very first babysitter. Awww…And just look at how she’s blossomed…
