The question I’m most commonly asked by clients is “How long have you been a photographer?”
The short answer is “Since the first time I held a camera.” The better answer is “Since around 1992, when my husband bought me my first Minolta Maxxum film camera and I discovered that I could turn everyday things into art.” I used to go out with that camera every weekend looking for things to shoot: Doorways, old rock walls, barns, cornices, an old shed or even a cobblestone sidewalk. It became a passionate hobby for many years. I used those years to learn, take classes, and develop an artistic eye, which I feel is a necessary component of fine art photography.
I officially started my business in late 2006. I’ve heard musicians say they always knew they were made to sing. Well, this is what I was meant to do. I have a job that fills me with joy, lets me meet amazing people every week, cuddle with newborn babies, and get huge smiles from adorable children. And the resulting images make people happy.
I do what I love…and love what I do.
