Cher, I'd take the 135! LOL It's my favorite lens. BUT - way too long for indoors. Were it me...I'd keep the 50 1.8 and add the 135 for outdoor stuff. Maybe upgrade to the 50 1.4 at some point. I have the 1.2, but don't necessarily think the speed is necessary. In hindsight, I'd have done just fine with the 1.4.

Hi Lisa!! Your photos never cease to amaze me! ;) I check your blog daily! I am still very new at photography and definitely still in the learning stage. I am also a fan of fixed length lenses. I am in the market for my first "L" lens and am having a hard time trying to decide between the 50mm 1.2 (I am currently using the 1.8) and the 135mm 2.0. Most of my shoots in the nice weather are outdoors, however I am in snow country so will have to inevitably do some indoors. Just wondering what your thoughts are on this? Do you ever use the 135 indoors or mainly out? If you could only have one lens which would you pick? LOL! ;)

Seanna - Bulldogs ROCK! They're smelly and all, but they're the best dogs!

Lynne - I just decided enough was enough. I had to hit the wall and decide that was it. And because I'm an anal freak of nature (just ask anyone who knows me), I couldn't back down once I'd made the decision. The rest was easy, actually. Put less in your mouth than you use every day. Easy!

Pat - I don't shoot weddings .

Julia and Prudence - thanks!!

Lisa, sometimes I think we live in a parallel universe. Well... not really, but in regards to weight loss we do. I was also a size 14 and with just 7 more lbs to go before my goal, I'll be in a size 8 also (I only bought two size 10 pants because I don't intend to be here long). So congratulations to you because I know how good that clothes purge really feels! :-)

What a wonderful life! Congrats on the weight loss. I've been slowly growing and expanding, so thanks for the inspiration to get it together.

Thanks a bunch for posting your kit. I'm a photog in training so I find it quite interesting that you have fixed focal length lenses. Fun and exciting. Love your work.

Congratulations on the size 8! I am so in need of some inspiration right now -- and you are it! How did you make the transition? Because the 14 to 8 range is right where I want to be -- would love to know your secret. Also -- love the puppy shot! When did the new little arrival arrive? He's adorable!

Hey, cool about the weight loss and closet cleanout. I lost 50+ pounds from June-now. Still have some to go but it is a good point to be at for the holidays. Way to go, us!

(Somehow that dog is even exceptionally cute when you photograph it, says the not-a-bulldog-fan woman.)
