I met this little sweetie on a dark and gloomy Friday. It rained, then the sun came out, then the rain moved back in to stay. Fortunately, mom and dad had some lovely floor-length windows that we made the most of. I actually don’t mind gloomy light with a newborn session, since it gives gorgeous depth and texture to all of baby’s wrinkles and folds. Case in point:

I was holding Ruth Ann’s little legs in to get her back to sleep, and I looked down and had an epiphany. Called mom over to put her hands in my place, and voila!

My poor dads have received quite a soaking lately. As SOON as we put baby in dad’s lap, she decided it was time to go. I think this has happened with my last 4 newborn sessions in a row - mom stays clean, dad gets wet.
And they’ve all been great sports about it, too. Welcome to the wonderful messy world of parenthood!
I have 3 more dads coming up in the next couple of weeks - get the washing machine warmed up, is all I can say!

And one last one with her gorgeous mama…

Mary Ann and Jeramy, thank you so much for sharing your sweetie with me!

They are all great! I just love #2, how cute!
Beautiful pictures and beautiful baby!! Love the one with the mama. The same thing has happened to my dads in the last few weeks, the best one was when twins decided to let go at the exact same moment! Poor dad
WOW ! ! Number 2 gets my vote! So BEAUTIFUl!
I love the one with Mom’s hands. It just shows how tiny those sweet newborns are and how short a time they stay that size
These photos left me breathless. What profound beauty!
