Friday after dance class, after picking all the flowers off the lantana, she started wandering around picking up leaves. I asked if she wanted a basket (yes!), so I tossed one down, then followed with my camera.

And my favorite…

My clients often ask me if I take pictures of my kids constantly – and I really don’t. If they’re doing something fun (like this, or the hoppity-hop the other day), I try to run in and grab my camera. But I don’t set up formal ’shoots’ that often.
I really have to be careful or I run the risk of infecting them with the dreaded ‘Photographer’s Kid Syndrome.’ The symptoms of that affliction include running away at the mere sight of a camera, covering one’s face with both hands, and the oh-so-horrible ‘cheesy grin’ <shudder>. Aidan suffered from it for years, but was cured once he noticed all of the pictures going up in the house were of the OTHER kid. But the cheesy grin is really hard to cure.
But I’m going to make more of an effort. Seeing these picture of Ava reminded me of this one from two years ago:

And then I got all sad because she’s growing up so quickly <sniff>. So let’s just move along, shall we!?
