annie: day 2

Housebroken. (can I get a WOO HOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Cried in her crate last night for about 30 minutes, then stopped and slept until morning. (ditto above).

Loves the kids.

Trying to get Vic to love her, but he’s still pretending she isn’t really there.

Still no clue what breed she is – sheltie maybe? terrier? Teltie? Shelier?

Still no clue on her age – the shelter said 10 months, but she’s very puppy-like. We’ll find out on Monday when…

Getting spayed on Monday.

Already has her holiday reservation at my favorite pet resort.

Is curled up sleeping at my feet while I get back to my REAL work.

Meet Annie.

After Sadie (our beloved bulldog) died several years ago, I was DONE with dogs. I didn’t want a dog. I talked several friends OUT of getting dogs.

And then we visited our friends Joy and Barry. Who have 2 dogs, 3 cats, 3 ponies, a variety of chickens and 2 ducks. And Joy told me we were depriving our kids of the companionship of a dog. That every kid should have one. And – since Vic and I both grew up with dogs – I realized she might just be right.

So today – since I am NOTHING if not impulsive, the kids and I headed out to the Cobb County Animal Shelter.

Where after walking through the whole place, tearing up left and right at all of the beautiful sad faces, I came to this one:

And now she’s a Russo. Welcome home, Little Ann (named by Aidan after Little Ann in ‘Where the Red Fern Grows.’

Josephine at 1 Year: A Sneak Peek

So this little sweetie holds a special place in my heart. She is the first wee bitty that I’ve photographed 4 times. She was in her momma’s belly the first time, but that counts, right?? We met up recently on an absolutely perfect fall day for her 1 year session.

Seriously. I dare you to look at this face and not burst into a grin so big it hurts your cheeks.

All together now: “Awwwwww…..”

Miss Josephine has reached “that age” where she wants to walk – by herself. Don’t even THINK about holding her hand. She can do it HERSELF, thank you very much (all the moms of little girls out there are nodding their heads in understanding).

Rosemary had one specific request: She wanted a few pictures of she and Jim. And while I have several where they’re both looking, this was by FAR my favorite because it is SO them. Rosemary smiling and Jim laughing.

And here is sweet Josephine with her gorgeous mommy…

Jim and Rosemary, thank you so much for trusting Josephine’s precious first year memories with me. It’s been an absolute joy!

ch ch ch ch CHANGES: My new website launched!

Guess what? I have a brand shiny new website!

For quite some time, I’ve wanted a new site that would showcase my wonderful clients in big, bold fashion – but I’m a stickler for clean/classic designs. Well, the wonderful folks who designed my original site came up with a new version with larger images, and VOILA!

I’ve been working on it here and there for a few weeks – go take a look: Lisa Russo Photography. If anything doesn’t look right or doesn’t work, please let me know!

In other news, with the new website launch, I decided to freshen up my branding and logo. Since my focus is primarily little ones and families, I wanted a cleaner, more modern design. You can see it up above when you first load the blog.

As always, thanks for visiting!!
