I had the most delightful session yesterday with a 6 month old sweetie named Noah. Just wait until you meet him - adorable!!
While I was gone, Vic (and - reluctantly - Aidan) laid new sod in our backyard. We did the backyard a few years ago, but the bermuda never really took in the shady spots (we have a lot of trees). Our neighbors put in Zion Zoysia and we’ve been coveting ever since. So this weekend, that’s what he put in. Isn’t it lovely? Like a big fuzzy green carpet.

They’re putting out pine straw now to cover all the yuck in the woods. It’s going to be so great.
I’m keeping Ava occupied with a bucket of water and her new Littlest Pet Shop toys. They don’t have rubber clothes, which is a good thing.

She (inevitably) took a tumble off the retaining wall yesterday - it was bound to happen at some point. She’s a little scraped up, but Vic said it took her about 15 minutes and she was climbing back up again. Stinker.

So my online friends are trying to aid me in my quest to become more stylish and <ahem> girl-like.
I’ve never understood the shoe thing - how women love shoes. Me? Give me a nice comfy pair of Tevas and I’m all set for the summer. Flip flops, maybe a nice pair of Sketchers in the winter.
Part of the problem is my complete aversion to shopping - I know, I’m weird.
But I’m ready to turn into a girl, I think. So they linked me up with a bunch of suggestions and I headed out to DSW on Friday night (with Aidan in tow - he loved that) for some shoe shopping.
I bought these - by Privo (which are so amazingly comfortable!!)

And these:

(I wanted blue, but they were sold out of my size)
And another pair in a python (yes, python) print. Wheee - I’m getting crazy over here!
None of these are nearly as cute as the ones they linked me to from Piperlime, but it’s all baby steps, right?

Those of you who live in Cobb, have you been to the Lucy store at the Avenue East Cobb yet? Oh my - it’s glorious! I looove the Spa pants and the Everyday pants. They’re comfy (!) and look nice. What more could you ask for?

Last weekend we were craving Grouper sandwiches - Vic and I love them, and our local place just changed theirs on the menu to the “Fish Sandwich” (grumble, grumble). I googled and found out that one of my favorite little lunch places - The Fickle Pickle - has grouper on their dinner menu! Whoo! We took the kids and it was so great. We sat outside, Ava was free to run around (not really, but she’s reached that ‘won’t sit in her seat so we can’t go out to eat for another year’ stage), and the grouper sandwiches were amazing.
If you haven’t been there for dinner, I highly recommend it! I do love downtown Roswell.

I mentioned I took Aidan out with me on Friday night - that was nice. We couldn’t remember the last time we’d gone out without anyone else. We’ll have to do it again soon.

I think we’re going biking at Callaway Gardens tomorrow. Or hiking at Amicalola . I want to bike, but Vic says it’ll be cooler at Amicalola.

What am I doing while posting these random blog entries? Client DVD backups. They take quite a bit of time to run, so I’m filling my time with my lovely blog readers!
So what are you up to this weekend??

Yard looks great! So does Ava. Did you say something the other day about Polly Pocket toys or was that someone else? My husband used to curse the makers of Polly Pocket. I think they all disappeared one day, like the ancient Mayans. Or was that the Incas? The mystery has never been solved.
Since you asked, today I am working in my home office. I expect to be here until around 7:00. That’s no fun. I will also be working for a few hours in the morning, at the office of my boss. Also no fun. Probably less fun than being here in the office.
Also less fun than backing up client DVDs, I would think.
The shoes are cute. For what it’s worth, I think you’re girly. Just regular girly, not foofy girly. I would say maybe practical girly?
Hey Ms Lisa…yummm, I have a thing for Grouper sandwiches too and they’re hard to find good ones..the best ones I have ever had and where I got addicted to them were in the Turks and Cacos (not sure if I spelled that right) Islands..before kids, hubby and I went on a whim with another couple and I ate them like everyday with an ice cold Corona and limes..it’s a very good memory…too bad I live south of the city or I would have to check out that restaurant…
Callaway sounds good..I’ve been sick all weekend so hoping to feel better tomorrow so we can do something fun too…actually watching “Flipping Out” on Bravo right now, ever watch that? Hate that guy, he’s such an ass..lol…but for some reason I watch it every now and then..bye..have a good weekend!
Seanna - I like that!! A ‘practical girly.’ Yes indeedy - that’s me!
And yes - it was me who mentioned the dreaded Polly Pockets with their rubber clothes of evilness!
Heather - I hope you’re feeling better! And yup, Vic loves all the home shows. I can’t picture the guy right now, though - I’ll have to check it out!
Privos are oh-so comfortable. I purchased my first pair last Fall. And the sod….oh my, wait till I share this my hubby. He’s on a mission for the perfect sod. And yours looks great.
I’m with you on the shoe issue! I could literally spend $3.50 for my summer shoe inventory (rubber flip-flops at the drug store) and be set! But ahhh, Privos. Yummy. I’m stuck on Keen and Merrill now, too. Pricey, but worth it. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
