THIS session was at 9:00 a.m., which is perfect a) for lighting and b) for heat - as in, it’s not quite so!
Meet Mr. Brody. Abso-stinking-lutely adorable:

The first thing he did was show me his shoes (very cool brown leather sandals like his big brother’s). The thing about Brody is that he’s at that age where me - and my camera - are something to be studied. Learned about. Focused on. It’s SO typical of this age!
Unfortunately, it means spontaneous smiles are a bit harder to come by. I made every little boy noise I know (don’t ask!), danced (badly), sang (badly), and even got mom, dad and big brother in on the act. I’m sure the neighbors were quite amused by the show we put on! If vaudeville comes a’calling, we’ll know why.
Big brother Mason, on the other hand. Well, you’d think he was an old pro at this photography stuff.
He not only had a perfect smile, he had several variations. What a doll.

I did get some family shots, naturally, but love this one.
With little boys, once the tongues come out, there ain’t no going back!

And I have to admit: Editing these, and looking at mom’s amazing legs? Yeah, more encouragement to get to the gym daily!!
OH - and this is a good place to mention this, since I’m often asked by my clients what they should wear for their family sessions. I LOVE what this family is wearing. As you can see, they do NOT match - but everything goes together. Casual, but cohesive. Like making one outfit out of several pieces - khaki, light blue, dark blue, yellow - it meshes so nicely and photographed like a dream!
A FAVORITE!

And another favorite!

And lastly, I have so (so!) many great candids of dad playing with the boys. You all know how much I love these shots.

Hey, is that a SMILE I see??

Paula and Jeff: Thank you so much for sharing your sweet family with me!
