Monthly Archives: February 2008

I often tell my clients that one of the things I love most about my job is that I get to share in the joy of their little ones. I get my fill – I get to snuggle and coo and smile and giggle and enjoy their babies with them. Which certainly helps get me through the days when all my first baby (now
wants to do is argue with me about the color of the sky, whether water is wet, whether books have pages…well, you get the picture. But I digress!
This little darling? Stole my heart within 30 seconds of meeting her. I walked in the door and could hear her happy self before I even saw her. Chattering away in her bouncy seat, which started bobbing like crazy when I came into view. She is an absolute gem. SO much personality – goodness. I could eat her up.
And now I get to share her with you. Meet little E:
That face! Do your cheeks hurt from smiling already?
I loved these little bloomers!
Absolute sweetness.
Here she is with her lovely and beautiful mama (how cute is that dress??):
And with daddy (notice the tongue!). I should mention here that while all little girls (including mine!) are Daddy’s Girls, this little sweetie’s relationship with her daddy was nothing short of magical.
Tiny baby hands…sigh…don’t you wish those little knuckle dimples would never go away?
J & S, I hope you enjoyed your sneak peek! I’ll be in touch very soon!

Aaah…a sweet little baby boy. All of 9 days old. Let’s enjoy him, shall we?
First off, a wee little smile from Mr. K:
ADORABLE!
I think even mom and dad were surprised to see how their tiny little boylie curled up. What I love is the way you can almost hear him go “ahhh…” They’re truly *so* comfortable all curled up – afterall, this is how he was hanging out for the past few months, right?
Look at the tootsies!
This might be a good time to mention: We had this shoot at my home. I have a studio room that receives perfect light every single day, all day long (eastern exposure, with a white house next door to bounce it back – perfection!). If you’re one of my upcoming clients, and your house doesn’t have enough light, I’m very happy to have your session here. It’s ideal for ‘traditional’ images like these.
Ok, onward!
Proud daddy…
And beautiful mommy…
I love how much he looks like mommy. After having two of my own who came out as mini-versions of Vic (harumph!), it’s so refreshing to see a mommy-baby match!
Look at these sweet little lips…
And lastly – a wrap. These are pretty popular in newborn photography these days, so I enlisted my mom (a.k.a. “Nana”) to make one. And here it is!
I hope you enjoyed your sneak peek, K & V! I’ll be in touch soon with the rest!
Specs: All images shot with the Canon 5D and 50mm 1.2 lens. Aps between 2.8 and 3.5. All natural light.

I love Photoshop techniques. Overlays, frames, effects. I don’t use them (often) on client’s images (but will if they ask!), but I love using them on my own.
Here’s a shot I took of Ava yesterday (with her ADORABLE new little haircut – more pictures soon).
Since I get so many questions about images, I’m going to TRY and include specs from now on (if I don’t remember, just poke me).
Specs: Shot with Canon 5D and 135mm 2.0 lens. Did my normal Lightroom and Photoshop edits, then applied a faux Holga texture and color with a Toy Camera frame (Flourish). Then I resized to 8×8 and placed it on a blank 12×12 canvas. Added the text and voila. This will likely hang in Ava’s bedroom or bathroom. I like black and whites for our ‘public’ areas of the house, and color in the bedrooms.
