Wall Galleries!

For awhile now, I’ve offered several pre-designed wall galleries in my online shopping system. In the new year, I’ve decided to stick with 100% custom designed galleries. Why? Because that’s what we always end up doing anyway - and I think it’s better to design a gallery based on your space and favorite images.

I love designing the perfect galleries for my clients’ homes. They tell me the measurements, wall color and their favorite images, and I start puzzling things together. Sometimes it takes several iterations until we have it just right. But since custom portraiture is an investment, it’s worth the time to make sure it’s perfect.

Here are a few recent designs:

Since this family lives close to me, I drove over with my laptop and we designed this one together. It will appear on the living room wall facing the front door. What a wonderful way to greet visitors! Since it’s going on a very large wall, we designed an asymmetrical gallery that easily allows for future additions!

The opposite wall will feature 3 11×14 portraits of the kids in wide black Saratoga frames. Gorgeous!

At a stunning 9′ across, this display was designed for this mom and dad’s master bedroom wall:

I cannot wait to see this baby hung!

I’m also happy to help add-on to galleries we’ve already designed. This gallery already hangs on a foyer wall, featuring images from this sweet little guy’s first session. A little rearranging, and it expands to include some images from his latest session:

Enjoy your Sunday, everyone!

27 People??

When Anne first contacted me to have a session with her family of 27, I will admit to a bit of hesitation. I’m great with babies, kids, newborns, engagements, adults…but all at ONCE?!?

But we exchanged a few e-mails and it turns out the session was to be a surprise for Anne’s mother - this would be the first time the extended family would be in one place in quite some time. Knowing how much my own mother misses us when we’re not around - how could I not take this on? And I do love a challenge.

Well - what an absolutely lovely family. LOVELY. After 3 hours with them, I’ll admit I felt funny leaving. They’d made me feel so welcome.

With this many individual family groups - and adorable children - I won’t even tell you how many frames I shot. But let’s just say I’ve been downloading for 2 hours and my computer is starting to smoke. ;)

A large family portrait was the primary goal - and I took a bunch of those. I wanted to share one before Anne and her family left to go back home.

What did I tell you? Lovely. :)

I’ll share a full sneak peek once I wade through all the images. Thank you again, Mr. and Mrs. Murray, Anne and all your brothers, and all your sweet children!

A sneak peek for the ‘F’ family!

First off, I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!! I like to think of all the little babies I photographed this year - whose families are spending their first Thanksgiving as a family of 3…or 4! All those new traditions starting up. So lovely.

I got to meet this little 3 month old sweetie last weekend. Look at this ADORABLE face:

The best thing about this session was watching daddy interact with his baby boy. Every shot, dad was right there making faces, laughing, smiling (and pulling out musical puppies!). How fun is this??

And guess who’s a firefighter? Mom wanted shots of her guys where daddy was in his gear. I love this one:

The whole beautiful family…

And I will admit to laughing right out loud when I first saw this image. Think he’s had enough of me? ;)

C & T: I hope you enjoyed your sneak peek! I’ll be in touch soon with the rest of your session!

For Nana…

Miss Ava got a haircut today and oh my goodness she looks cute. CUTE!

She put little bows in her hair - like a poodle! ;)
