Oh what fun we had at this session! These two girls were SO sweet. I think their mom was afraid they’d be a little camera shy, but I daresay by about the 15 minute mark they were clamoring to get in front of the camera! Little ‘S’ was even pointing out good spots for me to take pictures of her. Gotta love that!
Here she is right at the start of the session. We got right into the fun part with some tickles on the front lawn:
And her beautiful big sister ‘J’ – I LOVED the look of their backyard fence so we made good use of it!

The girls with their stunning mama:
The setting sun bounced off the house behind theirs to cast the most amazing warm glow into their back yard. Naturally we took advantage of that! I love this one…
All together now… “Awww…..”
This is an early favorite of mine. I just love the candid-ness of it. How dad is looking at the camera, with his happy and content little girls holding him. It’s emotional and happy. I love it.
The girls were so happy towards the end of the session when they got to pick the lantana. The yellow flowers with their purple shirts = divine! Here’s ‘J’ picking a few:
And I’ll end this little sneak peek with a shot of ‘S’ getting her groove on. Hey, when “We like to Move it!” is playing, how can you not?
I hope you enjoyed the sneek, D & W – I’ll be in touch soon! Thank you again for letting me photograph your beautiful family.

I love shooting maternity sessions. I love going to my clients’ home and wandering around looking for interesting nooks and stairs and places to pose and get fun lighting. It’s always a creative challenge, which is why I think I love them so much.
And they’re especially fun if it’s a first baby – I remember the excitement, the “what’s life going to be like?!” feeling. It’s bliss. Pure bliss.
This session was so much fun – R & J were wonderful. No funny looks when I asked R to plop down on the driveway (in front of this COOL little fence!):
And look at this one – I HAD to get this in. Wrought iron and vines? Oh yeah!
R & J are so sweet together. So happy and loving. That’s one lucky wee babe.
Shed with a cool door? Definitely. J was even nice enough to take the big lock off for us. R looks so pretty with the rustic colors around her.
We walked inside the back door and I saw this amazing deep windowsill. Can’t wait to put the baby there!
I loved the lighting through this window with the greenery outside. It frames R so perfectly.
A perfect baby belly and shiny hardwood floors. A match made in Heaven.
Gotta have a good belly shot!
No couch, so we settled on a chair for my ‘over the shoulder’ shot. I think J and I could have a GREAT future in furniture moving, after we wrangled this chair from one room to another with nary a scratch!
A shot with the soon-to-be-VERY-jealous ‘kids.’
One of my favorites from the session. I just love how serene and beautiful R looks:
“Harumph. What do you mean there’s someone new moving in??”
“Well I hope they don’t plan on sitting HERE. This is MY spot!”
Aren’t these stairs fantastic? I loved the light coming in from the window in the back. R is so tiny I had to have her put her hand on her belly.
And a kiss in the front doorway. You know how I love front doors!
Thank you again SO MUCH for a wonderful session!
