Every baby is different. You may think they’re all the same – but trust me, I meet a LOT of babies and they’re as different when they’re 7 days old as they are when they’re 7 years old. Little Oban? Hungry, light sleeper, BIG pooper (dad has had a t-shirt that I daresay will never again see the light of day…) and sleeps with his mouth open. Oh, and has ADORABLE tootsies:

I love photographing new mothers. Especially when they don’t realize how absolutely beautiful they are…
And my favorite shot of the day, which happened by accident. I was just about to remove Oban from the blanket-filled bowl, when he stirred and put his hands over his head. The picture of contentment. Then he lifted his arms, and mom Shawna and I held our breath while we waited to see if he’d lie them down over his head again.
He did.
