In preparing for our session, Tom & Shannon were very specific about the look they wanted: Modern, edgy, urban. LOVE it! So we headed down to the High Museum and wandered around the immediate area for our shoot. I love hearing ‘modern,’ because that means lots of funky angles and crops. Not always the best look with a 3 month old, but for a maternity? Anything goes!
You wouldn’t believe how long we had to wait until the street behind them was free of onlookers (and people getting babies out of cars). Not always fun when it’s 90+ degrees and you’re pregnant! But Shannon was a great sport, and we quickly moved to shadier areas.
And my favorite shot of the day. We looked around for something fun to incorporate – but nothing was quite appropriate. But this? Awesome!

i have a maternity shoot coming up in a few months and the client doesn’t want the focus on her naked belly as she’s a bit uncomfortable with her body size…these would be awesome for any size:)
