The Russo Family (and dog) goes Biking

Aaaah…Spring has (sortof) sprung here in Atlanta. In another month the whole landscape (and cars, floors, pets, furniture…) will be covered in lovely yellow pine pollen. Aaah – the joys of living in the South!

On Sunday, we took a drive over to the Alpharetta Greenway – which is a FANTASTIC place to ride with kids (unlike the Silver Comet, which rocks but you’d better not get in anyone’s way or there’ll be heck to pay!). And – after she stood by the car the whole time we were packing, we decided to bring Lulu along and let her ride in our old kiddo trailer. She fit, and loved it, but we’re now on the lookout for a 2-seater kids’ trailer for our little snorting sweetie.

We also brought along ye old point-and-shoot camera for a few snapshots:

We only had a few mishaps. First Aidan broke his helmet, so he had to wear mine…then he fell twice going around corners…then I fell (with Ava – oops) in the parking lot when my shoe wouldn’t unclip (note to self: loosen the clips). But other than that, it was 2 hours of fun. Followed by lunch at Nirvana. Their salads put Panera to shame – SOOO good. I had the Sesame Chicken and Vic had the Caribbean. Yum!

In other news, I have a birthday coming up soon. I really don’t know what I could possibly want…

Oh GOLLY, how did that picture sneak in there? Hmmm…whatever could that BE? Is that a Kindle2, currently available for preorder at Amazon? I do think it is! Sneaky picture, jumping onto my blog like that.;)

berta - Looks like a fun day for the family, and Lulu looks right at home in the bike trailer. Hope you get everything on your b-day wish list ;)

Amy N. - oh that last part made me laugh! for Christmas i just send DH an e-mail with links to things he could get me. i’ve decided it’s just easier. :)

beth - Oh, definitely get the Kindle2! I have the original Kindle and ADORE it. I’ve read something like 15 books since my husband got it for me for Christmas. Best invention. EVER! So handy and easy. Whipped it out on the looooong postoffice lines at Christmas while holding packages. Can prop it up with the cover I got while I eat. I thought I would miss books, but I don’t. Hope you get it for your birthday- and have a great birthday!

Julie - My DH wants the Kindle, too. His friend has the original and loves it. BTW, the book page (The Story of Edgar Sawtelle)on the Kindle in the pic is what I’m reading right now. Weird, huh.

Diane - Oh my goodness, that underbite on Lulu is about the cutest sight ever. I just melt looking at her…but sitting in the trailer: Lord have mercy! I’m a goner.

Becca @ the Stanley Clan - Oh I want a kindle so bad! :-)

gina - We were there with our kids too! I swear we saw Vic and Lulu :) Did he by chance make it as far as Rock Mill Park? We love going there and will have to try Nirvana too.

Lori Jones - Lisa, check out my hubby’s store in Alpharetta/Duluth (www.thebicyclewheel.net). They have the 2-seater trailer, helmet, bikes, and anything that you need for a fun trip on the Greenway. LOVE these pictures – what a perfect day!
