wednesday randoms.

  • I got into an argument with Aidan yesterday over his history test on the American Revolution. He said he didn’t have to know the YEAR things happened, I said that is what history is about. Tantrum ensued. Result? Grounded until Friday.
  • Easiest way to give your stinky dog a bath? Take them into the shower with you. Oh yes I did.
  • I made the BEST pork loin roast on Friday. I wish I had a picture. Simple: Mix 1 cup REAL maple syrup, 4 tbs dijon mustard, 1 1/2 tbs cider vinegar, 2 1/2 tbs soy sauce, a little salt and pepper. Put pork loin roast (I actually made 2) in a baking dish (I put mine into a small, deep pyrex), pour glaze/sauce over the top and bake at 350 until done (meat thermometer a must). I took mine out at 140 (I hate dried out meat). SO tender, sweet and delicious, we ate it for 3 days.
  • Today I made these:

Took all of 15 minutes, the kids thought they were cupcakes, I was a “nice mom” for the afternoon, and the house smelled like apple pie when Vic came home. Win-win! Oh, and they’re REALLY good!

  • 12 minutes until the Lost recap – I love the way they do it pop-up-video style with boring narrators. I hope they do that again tonight. OH how I love Lost!
  • This came on my iPod at the gym today when I was on the elliptical (I have a 500 song cardio playlist and never know what musical treat will pop up). Yes, I knew all the words. I haven’t been able to get it out of my head all day, so now I will share the joy:

Vinyl pants. How Nicolette Sheridan could let him go I will never understand.

  • Photographers tend to spot something someone else has and go on a mad frenzy to acquire it. Since I am a prop and blanket maniac, I am no exception to that particular rule. I went to 5 TJMaxx, Homegoods, and Marshall’s stores in the last two days. The thing I was looking for? No luck. But I did end up with 4 new baskets, a sheepskin, and 4 new blankets to use at newborn sessions. Oh, and a new stool.
  • Remember my 2009 “goals?” My friend Roxanne joined Facebook. So now we can stay in touch. Checking that one off the list!
  • We had a playoff party on Sunday with a house full of people and kids. It was absolutely joyous, fun chaos. I Flip videoed at one point and I’m debating posting it here for the chuckle. Let’s just say that with 6 girls in the house between the ages of 4 and 13, I was the MAN with Miley Cirus, Demi Lovato and Jonas Brothers on my iTunes. Oh yeah.
  • 5 Minutes!

Happy Wednesday!

Julia - I’m so glad I’m not the only “grown up ” with Miley, Demi and the Jonas boys on my i-pod! That’s just some great upbeat running music. :-)

Tonia - Nicolette is one crazy woman to let that man go. Thanks for sharing the video. It made my morning!

berta - That pork roast sounds yummy!!!!!!!! I don’t like “dry” meat either!
