Meet Annie.

After Sadie (our beloved bulldog) died several years ago, I was DONE with dogs. I didn’t want a dog. I talked several friends OUT of getting dogs.

And then we visited our friends Joy and Barry. Who have 2 dogs, 3 cats, 3 ponies, a variety of chickens and 2 ducks. And Joy told me we were depriving our kids of the companionship of a dog. That every kid should have one. And – since Vic and I both grew up with dogs – I realized she might just be right.

So today – since I am NOTHING if not impulsive, the kids and I headed out to the Cobb County Animal Shelter.

Where after walking through the whole place, tearing up left and right at all of the beautiful sad faces, I came to this one:

And now she’s a Russo. Welcome home, Little Ann (named by Aidan after Little Ann in ‘Where the Red Fern Grows.’

Julia - Awww. she’s so cute! I look forward to many more photos of sweet Annie with her big brother and sister. Tell us more about her, how old is she? She looks like a little thing, and still not too sure of this whole new wonderful world yet, how’d her first night home go?

traci - oh she’s beautiful and probably so happy to be in your home. we have rescued many dogs and they always turn out the best. i think it’s because they are so grateful to have a good home. enjoy her!!!
