Thursday Randoms…

On my way out to Target tonight for some kid-free shopping (e.g. bliss, nirvana, silence), Star 94 was asking people to call in and say what they would do if they could chuck their current job and start over doing their dream job. And I thought to myself “I AM doing my dream job.” To be able to do the thing you love most? Almost as good as a kid-free shopping trip to Target!

With the money he made selling his games and books at the garage sale, Aidan bought Mario Super Smash Brothers Brawl for the wii. Our house has now become a magnet for every 7-9 year old in a 5 mile radius. Clearly, this is THE fun game to have. It’s rated ‘T,’ but I checked it out and it doesn’t seem overly violent – and there’s no blood. And they laugh and jump around. So it gets the thumbs-up from me.

If someone knows how to teach my potty-trained little girl that poop is coming, I’d be grateful. She comes to the realization on her own…just usually about 30 seconds too late.

After hemming and hawing and wanting and coveting…I finally just went and bought myself a Superhero Designs necklace. I’m not a huge jewelry person, but I ADORE colorful beaded necklaces. I bought ‘Earth, ‘and I love it beyond words.

I’ve lost 16 pounds (and counting). The good news: I’m down a size and headed for two. The bad news: All my clothes are baggy and sloppy-looking. And I HATE to clothes shop and don’t really want to just yet. But seriously – worse things to complain about? I think so.

All of the kid clothes and toys that didn’t go during the garage sale (and we had a lot, I kept everything from the time Aidan was a babe), we donated to the Kool Kidz Foundation. They told me today that ours was the largest single donation they’d received (it was around 15 huge bags of clothes and toys). Sure, the tax writeoff is nice, but the ‘feel good’ is even better. If you’re in Atlanta and have things to donate, check them out!

I thought I would post that I am completely booked for sessions through the end of August. Because customer service is *really* important to me, I like to only take a limited number of sessions each month. Over the past few months I’ve taken on too many – and while I was thrilled to do so, I made a couple of minor errors on client orders – and that is absolutely unacceptable to me. SO – June, July and August are fully booked, and any September inquiries are being added to a waiting list. Thank you again to everyone who has referred me to their friends!

Another sneak peek is coming up asap!

Sharon - You are welcome on the referrals, I am dying to see the next one’s session which I think might be done? I am always up for some kid free clothes shopping so if you need some motivation :-)
I read this week that “potty trained” kids take 6mths to stop having accidents!?!? That sort of contradicts itself but gives us some hope. I have figured out the time of day for Landon and I have a HUGE bag of “weepops” (lolipops) for successes.
CONGRATS ON 16LBS!!! and congrats on being in such demand you have fantastic talent.

Paula - Congrats on the weight…woohoo! Did my friend Cristina call you yet about her maternity session? I think she was hoping for early fall.

Marjorie - Yay congrats on the weight loss. Isn’t it nice to have a *job* you enjoy!

Steph - isn’t the dream job the best feeling ever??
Congrats on the 16 pounds

Jana - 16 pounds? Wow! Congrats! And this is the second time you have tempted us with that Superhero jewelry — and the 2nd time I’ve gone right to their site! I may just have to own one of those some day.

berta - Congrats on the weight loss and kid free shopping time at T =) Checked out the Superhero necklaces too, so fun and colorful.
