So the benefit of having an older brother who’s been “around the block” when it comes to Easter treats is that he can show you the ropes.
After bounding in this morning to wake us up at 7:30 a.m. SHARP (we told him he couldn’t wake us up any earlier – or ELSE!), Aidan ran off to drag Ava from bed, showing her the Elmo basket the bunnyman had left for her (after thoroughly examining it himself, naturally). Then he called her to the window to see the eggs the aforementioned long-eared (toothed?) fellow had scattered about the backyard. Squeals of glee ensued.
Jackets went on and a quick run around the backyard gathered them up. I must say I was VERY impressed with Ava’s egg-gathering speed. She’s apparently learned the ropes herself – the “better be quick or your brother will get them all” ropes, that is.
Back inside to open the eggs. Aidan was hoping for a new video game, but alas the eggs were filled with candy.
Ava first went for the malted milk balls, since they required no unwrapping.

She didn’t quite understand that you have to BITE them, and proceeded to just suck the coloring off the outside before handing them to Daddy..and putting in another.

Jellybeans were a bit more to her liking. Much easier to chew (good thing mommy likes malted milk balls).

The downside to having an older brother who “knows the ropes” is that he’ll come in saying he’s going to HELP you unwrap your candy, but he’s really out to steal it. Watch out!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter! To all my little clients experiencing Easter for the first time, I hope the bunny brings you lots of candy and your older brother doesn’t swipe it from you.
We’re off to spend it with friends this afternoon – I made a 20 pound lasagne yesterday after my morning session. Yum.

Linda J - Love her cheeks stuffed full of candy!:) Happy Easter:)
berta - Looks likes she enjoyed the visit from the Easter bunny. Hopefully big brother won’t help her with all good candy!!
Shaun - Could she be any cuter? I don’t think so. Her little cheeks are so cute. Aidan appears to be such a great big brother. She is very lucky.
Happy Easter.
Jana - Now that is just too cute! What a fun Easter at your house!
