Since I don’t really scrapbook anymore (bad me) I will occasionally feel the need to document milestones right here on ye old blog.
In the past month or so, Ava’s vocabulary is soaring. She mimics just about anything you say to her, especially if you repeat it a few times (cute beyond words).
Her favorite word is PuppEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEee!!!!!!!!!! And yes, she says it (always) with just that much enthusiasm.
Imagine driving down the road with another adult, passing some guy on the street holding a sign that says "One Million Dollars – FREE!"
Yeah, that’s about right.
I credit Ginger. Since we haven’t had any dogs since she was born (miss you, Sadie), Ava’s primary reaction to them has been fear and very high pitched screeching.
Then a pre-4th of July Saturday – followed by a 4th of July Wednesday – at the Jones’ house with their sweet yellow lab Ginger changed all that.
First there was fear…then screeching…then the realization that this big fuzzy soft thing was just going to lie there and look at her with big brown eyes. And wag her tail when petted. And a love was born.
I had to buy her a PUPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!! for her bed. And whenever we pass anything 4-legged…yup, "MOMMY!!!! PUPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!" Heh.
The other word – which is so stinking cute we find any opportunity to have her say it – is ‘Butterfly.’
She has a butterfly mobile in her room (the very, very adorable one that Pottery Barn Kids used to sell – thank you, Nana!). A couple of times lying on her bed talking about them and love #2 was born.
Now any time she sees one, she has to point it out "Buh-blech-BLY!!!" (that middle portion is often a gutteral, unintelligible sound, but we know).
As a side note, it is AMAZING to me just how many girlie things have butterflies on them.
And, since this post was about her, here’s another pic from yesterday. Babydoll strollers have come a looong way, no? This thing holds TWO babydolls, has swivel front wheels, drink holders…and reclines.
Because every babydoll deserves the most luxurious, comfortable ride possible, apparently.
And – yes – she really is that cute. Little monster.
