I love Lantana.

It’s such a southern thing, isn’t it? Grows like a weed and you CAN’T kill it.

And the drier and hotter it is? The bigger and prettier it grows.

Lantana

I bought these lantana plants a couple of years ago. I had them in front, and Vic hated them out there (due to the aforementioned size).

So one day he moved them to the back corner of the house, where they withered and died.  Not that I think that was his plan or anything.

Until the following summer. when they bloomed and grew. Glorious!

This summer they’re back again – the bushes are probably 3′ tall. SO gorgeous. All pink and yellow and orange and green. Ahhh…

I love Lantana.

And in other happy news, Vic returns home to us tomorrow! I didn’t want to advertise his absence, but he’s been out of town for work for THE PAST THREE WEEKS.

Yes, you read that correctly. I have been home – with school out – in the summer – for THREE WEEKS.

(And let’s not even TALK about the lawn mowing, shall we? I had to MOW the lawn! I’m a girl! I never had to mow the lawn growing up!
Not that I was spoiled. I’m CERTAIN I did other things around the house to help out. I can’t recall what they are right now, but I know there was something.)

Honestly, all you single moms out there? Huge round of applause. I know not how you do it, but I commend you heartily.

We’re very excited to have him come home tomorrow…and I have an AWESOME Father’s Day/Birthday Surprise planned for Sunday. But don’t tell him, ok? It’ll be our secret. Shhhh….
