Privilege Points: The Summer Sanity Saver

I’m about to share a magical thing.

A mystical thing.

A wonderful, amazing, glorious thing.

I present: The Privilege Points Chart

(you’ll excuse the garish colors – it’s intended audience member is 7)

We first tried the chart last summer – it was passed on to me by my lovely friend Rhonna.
I made a few modifications for our family and voila – our summer of whining and complaining turned into a summer of glorious peace.

Instead of too much TV watching, we have coloring and journal writing and reading.

Does it mean that everything we do is point-related? Yes. But that’s ok. Really. It also includes a little math…I get lots of chores done…the whining diminishes to nothing. Ahhhh…It’s a good thing.

School ended last Friday – the chart went up this morning. And so far so good.

ETA: We keep track of the points in that little box at the bottom. I just put the page in a plastic page protector and we write his points in a dry-erase marker. When the points change, we just erase the # and write the new number. Erase and write, erase and write. Easy!

These are for Nana – she bought Ava this little purple outfit last weekend. CUTE!
